Directions:
1.5 Miles from Elk Springs Resort on Dry Fork Rd in Monterville, WV. This cemetery is behind a log cabin and several older looking cabins/residences/barns. There is a dirt road that leads to the cemetery that looks like a driveway (just to the right of the log cabin). Continue on the dirt road just a couple of yards through the fence and the cemetery is on the left.

This cemetery was my "unicorn" that I never expected to find. The odd thing is that my son likes to fly fish less than 2 miles away from this cemetery at the Elk Springs Resort in Monterville, WV. Samuel and Sarah Bonner are my 4th Great Grandparents. Sarah fought, vigorously, for land claim rights for veterans of the War of 1812. It was a costly fight that is well documented. She was tenacious to claim what was Samuel's even after his death. She eventually won the land claim rights but only shortly after her death. The Federal Govt also recognized Samuel's service with a govt war marker for him and Sarah. Previously, all that remained for tombstones were two large rocks.
